This year’s contest brought in a record-breaking number of submissions from some of my artistically gifted fans. It’s always a thrill to see my creatures, characters, and other creations reimagined in a visual format, and I am so grateful to everyone who participated.

Now, without further ado, here are this year’s winners:
Winner – Best Creature
This was a hard one, because there were so many fantastic creatures submitted this year. In the end, I chose this image of the sleevaks from The Adventures of Keltin Moore for its attention to detail and the sheer scale of illustrating an entire pack of the beasts all at once.
Winner – Best Character
While there weren’t as many characters submitted as creatures, there were still some great images of the people of my stories, particularly when it came to the gentle ape-like Loopi people. While there were some really great images, in the end I decided to give this one to a great black-and-white portrait of Mr. Renlowah, a minor but beloved character from The Adventures of Keltin Moore.
Winner: Special Category – Best Medium
This year I received my first-ever LEGO fan art submission, which was sent in by one of my younger fans. I think we can all agree that everyone (with the exception of the unfortunate Corporal Lewis) loves this image of the armored leech!
Winner: Special Category – Best Scene
I love it when an artist goes beyond recreating a single subject from my stories and goes all out in illustrating an entire scene! This scene is taken from the climax of Into the North and is a great stylized interpretation of Keltin’s final, climactic showdown with the Ghost of Lost Trap.
