My Thoughts: Dave Barry is my favorite author. Of all the books on my shelves, his are the ones I have reread the most. While he does write fiction for both adults and young readers, I’ve always preferred his nonfiction essays and books. While some of his earlier books have some good moments, I think that “Dave Barry’s Greatest Hits” was when he truly found his voice as a humorist. His unique perspective and comedic talent really shine through in every essay, making it a delightful read for anyone in need of a good laugh. While some of his humor may be a bit irreverent or dated, it never crosses into offensive territory, making it accessible to a wide audience. Barry’s ability to find humor in the mundane and shed light on the quirks of human behavior is unmatched. If you’re interested in checking out his hilarious library of titles, this is where I suggest you start.
