I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all—I’ve finally begun recording the audio for my first audiobook! After much anticipation and encouragement from many of you, The Beast Hunter: A Keltin Moore Adventure is coming to life in a whole new way.
For those who may not be familiar, The Beast Hunter is the first book in my steampunk-flavored fantasy series about a professional monster hunter. Many of you have been following Keltin Moore’s adventures for years, and I’ve always dreamed of bringing his story to an even wider audience through an audiobook.
I’ve been recording in my home studio for about a week now. Most of my progress has been focused on figuring things out. From ensuring my noise floors are low enough to making my accents distinct yet sustainable, I’ve been taking my time to ensure that both my performance and the recording quality are top-notch.
Deciding to narrate the book myself was a tough choice. I’ve gone back and forth on this for a while, but the kind words from those of you I’ve met in person about the quality of my voice have given me the confidence to take on this exciting challenge. Still, this decision was not easy, especially since my previous attempt to record the audiobook five years ago ended in disappointment when the master files were rendered unusable. Overcoming the anxiety from that experience has been a significant challenge, but I feel that the best way to address those issues is by focusing on enjoying the process and staying accountable to myself and my fans. Your positive vibes and encouraging words are especially welcome during this time!
I don’t have a target release date yet, as I’m fitting the recording sessions into my schedule as best as I can. However, my hope is to streamline the process and complete it as soon as possible.
